Don't Scale by Capacity, Scale-for-Free!

Drive-Based Pricing
with Scale-for-Free

The StorONE Engine delivers more for less! This ONE Storage Engine needs fewer flash drives to meet the organization's performance requirements and fewer hard disk drives to meet capacity requirements. Our Scale-for-Free pricing program is a drive-based model designed to reward IT planners that craft a solution using high-performance SSDs and high-density HDDs.

Why Scale-for-Free Works

scale-for-free-2

The Scale-for-Free, drive-based model works because of the efficiency of the StorONE Engine. With this engine, IT architects can create a 500K IOPS, 500TB storage powerhouse, able to support a variety of workloads with just six flash drives and only twenty-five hard disk drives. With StorONE's pricing model, the organization licenses just the thirty-one drives used in the system, not the almost 600TB of capacity, reducing the initial cost of a storage solution by 40% to 60%.

How Scale-for-Free Works

Scale-for-Free is licensed per drive, so the first step is to determine the size of the active data set and the performance demands of active data. Select the number of flash drives needed to hit your goal. The best practice with StorONE is to use at least six flash drives of any capacity, so using a set of 15.36TB SSDs will deliver 90TBs of capacity.  These six drives will deliver ~500K IOPS thanks to our rewrite of the IO Stack. Next, determine the size of dormant data. Feel safe using high-density HDDs for this data thanks to StorONE's rewrite of auto-tiering and erasure coding. Count the number of flash drives and hard disk drives and get a StorONE Scale-for-Free license for each.

Save Money on Day One

scale-for-free-2

Scale-for-Free saves the organization money on day one! The StorONE Engine delivers better per-drive flash performance and faster drive recovery from HDD failure than competing solutions. Because of this, customers can leverage the latest innovations in performance and density and use 1/3 the amount of physical hardware that competing solutions require. With StorONE's Scale-for-Free, Go Big and Save!

Save Money in Year 5 and Beyond

In the next five years, drive performance may double, and drive density will likely triple. StorONE's Scale-for-Free licensing means that in five years our customers can replace their original drives and enjoy the increases in performance and capacity with no additional charge for software licensing. Thanks to StorONE's rapid rebuilding vRAID, customers don't even have to migrate data, just replace one drive at a time.
